Too hardcore for hardcore

Sunday, May 26, 2013

It's a house destruction party,
too hardcore for hardcore.
Golden weed,
a bundle pack.
No such thing.
Amber liquid in a diamond chalice.
Not your typical beatmaker.
Keep going.
It's getting smoky.
Utilize that piece.
Us, we, together forever.
I can smell your body,
entertain the notion.
Experimental,
this one's pretty kewl.
My red has fallen off,
chipped like a stone.
Clap your hands,
you're dreaming.
The melody haunts your reality.
The song infests your dream.
Crimson vans,
a faded chevron.
Purple lines fill my cavities.
I see you there,
diagonally,
an apple and a dash of rosemary.
Nevada,
Sierra,
Las Vegas.
Cali Cali.

thankful
thank·ful
[thangk-fuhl]
adjective
"feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative."

Being thankful isn't just for Thanksgiving. Gratitude isn't only relevant in November. Let's be appreciative all the time. We're over halfway through with May, then it'll be June. By then we're halfway through 2013. What happened?

What I'm thankful for this week:

s'mores  having the house to yourself for the day  receiving compliments  love letters  getting off work early  music festivals  forgetting about pictures that you took on your phone  how winter's fallen & dead leaves have turned lively & green  the breeze blowing against your skin  knowing you have one last day of work & then it's the weekend

What are you thankful for?

What I'm thankful for this week:

knowing people actually read what I write (thank you! :] ) drinking cold water on a really hot day  payday strawberries ♥ catching up on "How I Met Your Mother"  dark chocolate covered honeycomb from Sprouts the smell of fresh laundry  a cool day after an excruciatingly hot day ♥ finishing up a book  4 months of bliss♥  waking up from a nightmare where I didn't studying for my final only to realize I've already graduated  applying for new jobs  the vastness of the future

~Los Angeles~

Monday, May 13, 2013

A couple weeks ago I went to Los Angeles with Boo. Below is some photographic proof. We walked around Hollywood Boulevard. We saw the walkway of stars but didn't really pay attention to it. We hung out in the car and saw the back of Eva Longoria's head at the parking lot. We were kind of wrapped up in LA, the moment, the night before and where we we're going from there.

We purchased a disposable camera from some shoddy souvenir store. Only half the photos turned out because the camera was a bit wonky. It had a double-exposure sort of effect to it. Oh well. Some memories were maintained. We also used Boo's Minolta camera. Very nice.

At one point went to a little bar for happy hour: $10 for unlimited Bloody Mary's and/or mimosas. That was most definitely worth it. At another point we used up a $5 Starbucks giftcard I had and purchased a (Mint) Java Chip Frappuchino. At another point we got frozen yogurt (watermelon froyo is heavenly). I can't wait to go to LA again and create more memories. Join me on my journey and help me become one of the best travel blogs in California and the world! :]

Being thankful isn't just for Thanksgiving. Gratitude isn't only relevant in November. Let's be appreciative all the time. Thanks for tuning in to my second installment of the "Thankful Thursday" series. Hey, appreciation is a good thing. Maybe you should make your own list (just saying). It definitely helps in times of sorrow or when you're not feeling your bestest. Since last Thursday I've been keeping tabs of things that make me smile or stuff I like...basically a list of things that I'm glad I got to see, witness, experience, hear, feel, touch, do.

Accidental double-exposure due to crappy yet cool disposable camera
What I'm thankful for this week:

Helado Negro  Jamaican Queens  The Casbah in San Diego ♥ live music  getting more freelance writing gigs  buying new Vans  french fries  counting down to a fun event  "Survivor: Caramoan - Fans vs. Favorites"  chatting with a homie after you missed calls 5 times  Earl Grey tea  making money doing what you enjoy  a surprise hangout session with your friend  giving yourself a well-deserved gift  making someone else happy  your lovebug's mum making a delicious dinner instead of going out & wasting money on crappy food  going to bed when you're super tired

5 Things To Do Before the Weekend

Monday, May 06, 2013

What? Wasn't it just Monday? Wasn't I just in high school? Wasn't I just learning how to write in cursive? Wasn't I just born? My point is...life goes by. Regardless if you're having a fabulous day or utilizing your time, it still passes by.

Don't go another week (or day) without doing these five things. Your goal is to do one thing a day so you can finish on Friday. You may also choose to do everything at once. You may also chose to do nothing, but I hope that's a decision you can live with. Here we go!

4. Buy flowers
1. Write down your goals - Take five minutes (that's all) to physically write down five things you'd like to accomplish this week. Want to wash your car? Write it down (and do it). Want to get your nails done? Write it down (and do it). Want to meditiate? Write it down (and do it).

2. Update your résumé - Résumé. With two accent marks. Sounds fancy. Already have a job? Well, perhaps one day you won't or perhaps one day you'd like to explore your options. Spend some time working on your résumé. What skills have you acquired since you last updated it? What jobs have you had? Any new references or change in phone number?

3. Watch that show - Watch that show or movie that you've been meaning to watch but never "had the time" to do so. I give you permission to sit for an hour and watch it. Did it live up to the hype?

4. Buy flowers - Mother's Day is coming up. Flowers are awesome. There's no denying it. If you usually get your mum something, good for you. If not, now is the perfect time to surprise her with flowers. Sure, they die after a few days. The point is that you took the time to go out and purchase them as a token of appreciation. Flowers are also very pretty and refreshing to have around.

5. Put $10 away -  Get an empty pasta sauce jar (or jam, or peanut butter or whatever you have), wash it, dry it and put $10 away in it. Feel free to add more money next week or month. Save the money for a rainy day. Use it at a restaurant you wanted to try but didn't want to waste your money on. Go to the new Ironman 3 movie. Buy your dog a nice chew toy. Give your niece a new book.

adjective
"feeling or expressing gratitude; appreciative."

Being thankful isn't just for Thanksgiving. Thankfulness isn't only relevant in November. Let's be appreciative all the time. I'm proud to start a new segment of my blog called "Thankful Thursday." I may not update every Thursday, but the point is I don't want to be that person who doesn't express gratitude. I am thankful. There's so much to be thankful for. I hope this inspires you to notice the little things, the big things, the boring things, the important things, all of which contain things to be grateful for.

These are the things I'm thankful for this week:

day trips to Los Angeles  walking on Hollywood Boulevard  disposable cameras  clothes you forgot you owned  a day off from work  late night pizza munching  teatime  a walk outside on a really lovely day  fresh fruit  red roses from a lover  the smell of clean laundry  watermelon frozen yogurt  morning texts  quality time with a friend you haven't seen in a while  garlic knots  cold water in a tall glass  knocking things off your to do list  "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia"  sleeping in rocky road ice cream with brownie bits  letting go of harsh feelings  new music
