Curbside Cafe Review
For my boyfriend's birthday I took him to Curbside Cafe in Vista, CA. We'd never been & were looking for places that served mimosas, so Yelp came to the rescue & suggested Curbside Cafe. We headed over with empty stomachs, yearning for some brunch to sustain us.
We had the option of sitting inside or outside & we immediately chose outside. It was a breezy 80 degree day & in the shade it was the perfect temperature. Thanks California! Our server was kind & attentive. However, she never mentioned her name which I found odd. Rule #1 when I was serving was stating your name; that's the first thing you did when you when you greeted your guest. Oh well.
We took a look at their menu & there were so many options & specialty drinks. Instead of opting for the $6 mimosa, we went for their blended coffees similar to Starbuck's Frappuccinos for $4 a pop. I got the heath mocha & boyfriend got french vanilla. Tasty & icy. The ice chunks kept getting stuck in the straw, so I used a spoon. They were rich & yummy; we couldn't even finish them.
Lucky for me, there were at least a couple vegetarian options on the menu. I decided to go with the veggie omelette, which came with a side of hash browns & coffee cake. Carbs much? There were more side options, but that's just what I chose. Everything was scrumptious. I was really looking forward to the coffee cake, but it was a little dry.
Boyfriend got their chicken benedict which is essentially eggs benedict with chicken on an English muffin type thing. It came with a side of country potatoes. He really enjoyed it all. We both had left overs & ended up scarfing them down later that same day.
We wanted to get their famous cinnamon roll to go; on the Curbside Cafe website they claim it's "home of Vista's #1 cinnamon roll." But the server dropped off our check before we could say anything. By then we were too full & too lazy to request for more food.
The whole bill ended up being just about $30 + tip of course, which isn't bad for two meals & two specialty drinks. Curbside Cafe gave us great service & excellent food. I'd stop by again & next time I definitely want to try their famous cinnamon roll.
What do you think of our food & drink choices? Do these appeal to you? What's your favorite local cafe? :]

DeleteI love brunch and I'm a sucker for a good Benny, so this looks fabulous! I never really explored Vista when we lived in San Diego, even though I worked for a few months in Escondido. But Curbside Cafe looks like a great place to try! Especially on a beautiful day.

What a small world. I know Escondido well too! Perhaps you can give Curbside Cafe a visit later. :]

I'm sorry, the only thing I could focus on through this whole post was that it was 80 degrees. Eighty DEGREES! Oy, I don't even know what sunshine feels like on bare arms. I think I'm gonna move to California this week.
