My infatuation with dreamcatchers blossomed after I got one from an Indian reservation in Arizona from my travels on Route 66. I put it up next to my bed & I swear I never had a nightmare while it was there. Perhaps I should invest in one again because those late night premiers of Dateline scare the crap out of me.
Today we have a nice little game of Splurge or Save, where you get to test your fashion skills by determining which item is which. Our featured products are the Aurélie Bidermann Long Dreamcatcher Necklace for $727 & then we have the Charlotte Russe Turquoise Dreamcatcher Pendant Necklace which retails at $6.
Can you determine which is the splurge pendant? Choose now & scroll to find the answer.
The Charlotte Russe necklace has a long golden chain. The dreamcatcher charm features a turquoise centerpiece, etched feathers, & turquoise-like beads. Aurélie Bidermann's $727 Long Dreamcatcher Necklace is made of 18k gold. It has a long chain with a paperclip fastening, a red & turquoise cotton thread detail, small turquoise stones in the center & a hanging gold feather.
The $6 Charlotte Russe necklace is on the left; Aurélie Bidermann's $727 dreamcatcher is on the right.
I much prefer the look of Aurélie Bidermann's pendant. The red & turquoise thread detail is irresistible along with the intricate centerpiece. I'm also a big fan of the knotted chain. So chic. Want one for yourself? These dreamcatcher necklaces are $20 or less: Shagwear Long Dreamcatcher Pendant, Lureme® Ethnic Bead Feather Dreamcatcher Necklace, & Bohemian Dreamcatcher Necklace.
Did you guess correctly? Which did you think was the splurge dreamcatcher necklace? Which do you like better? :]

What a beautiful concept - combining both dream catchers and jewellery! I would certainly wear something like that. Great idea to compare luxury and budget versions, by the way :)

That's a good thing. Means Charlotte Russe is doing a good job. :]
DeleteI must say that I've done my research a little well since I guessed correctly, but I love dreamcatchers! :) the one on the right looks really chic, but something I don't think I can fork out the amount - though the one on the left is a great alternative for a broke college student.

Last Night with Lee
I agree Lee. I love the one on the right but couldn't justify $700 for it. :]
DeleteI guessed correctly! Ugh, why must I always choose the more expensive option? haha
ReplyDeleteSome of my favorite jewelry are pieces that I have gotten from Indian reservations in Arizona, too! Such beautiful craftsmanship, and I can't ever say no to turquoise!

It's another level when you buy something authentic & can help preserve their culture. :]
DeleteThe one on the right is more intricately detailed, but they're both pretty! It's good to have a portable dream catcher in case you have to take an unexpected nap ;)
ReplyDeleteCOOCOO FOR COCO
Hahaha, your comment had me giggling for sure! :]
DeleteCute! The Aurelie Bidermann necklace definitely got some nice details going on.
ReplyDeleteAnd LOL late night Dateline nightmares. I've never really been exploring on the mainland yet, but I definitely want to go on an adventure like that! (Not late night Dateline, but I mean Route 66, haha.)

So cool. It's funny how nice it looks yet it's $600+ cheaper. :]
DeleteThey are both so cute! Thank goodness I love the save!
ReplyDeleteChic on the Cheap
The one on the right looks amazing. I think I prefer it over the more expensive necklace.
ReplyDeleteThank you for all your comments on my blog. I think trying American candy is so popular amongst us brits that I felt it necessary to also give it ago. I'm not the biggest fan of the chocolatey treats, but I do love the M&M peanut butter and Reece's.. I prefer the Jelly type, retro sweets from across the pond :) Wonka, etc. xx

ReplyDeleteSo pretty!! Such a nice idea for a necklace. They are both nice wouldnt have thought there is that much in the difference... though fake jewellery makes my skin go green.. I'm such an allergy snob ;)
