Oh Copenhagen // OOTD

Oh Copenhagen. How I miss thee. Your rainy, gloomy, windy summer days. Your scrumptious open faced sandwiches. Your local Carlsberg beer. Your gargantuan palaces. I remember it fondly & I remember it well. Now all I have are photographs, journal entries, memories. Here's a little outfit of the day from my journey in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Unlike sunny San Diego, Copenhagen was gloomy almost the entire time I was there. It was a wonderful spin on my usual Californian summer. Layers & long socks were needed. A jacket with a hoodie or an umbrella were vital so you wouldn't end up soggy four hours. Not that I minded. It was a welcome change.

You can see a glimpse of Denmark by checking out my post on Copenhagen Street Art & Graffiti. There were so many beautiful pieces to spot. Street art is one of my favorite things to look for when visiting any place. The art is not immediately noticeable but ever since I found one, I've always kept an eye out for more. They're really cool little bits of culture & vary from place to place.

You may recognize bits & pieces of the outfit I'm wearing from previous OOTD posts.  I have a good range of clothing but I always end up reaching for the same pieces; that's probably because they're a little bit more versatile & easy to style with varying pieces. I wore the shorts last summer in Tropico. The cardigan is one of my all time favorites; I rocked it nearly every day on my Europe trip. You may see it on my Oh My Layers post from last fall.

The dainty crop top can seen in my latest OOTD for KAABOO Del Mar. The awesome carpet looking purse made its debut in Mary Poppins, the post not the film. My velvet combat boots are another top pick; I've worn them nearly to death. You can check them out in Get a Clue, Winter & the New Year, & Rainy Day. Looking back I probably wore these boots for 75% of my outfit posts. And you know what? I don't care. I have no shame. They are the most amazing boots I've ever had.

Travel is definitely one of the most amazing things you can do with your time & money. You can sit at home but you won't get a traditional Danish. You know the pastry? It's called a Danish. But I'll tell you what: the best Danish you'll ever have is actually in Denmark made by Danish person. Just saying. I hope you enjoyed this miniature glimpse of my time in Europe.

Have you ever eaten a Danish? Do you like street art as much as me? When was the last time you went thrift shopping? Do you find yourself wearing the same garments over & over?  :]

  1. Copenhagen is a place I've had my heart on since Estee from essiebutton vlogged her time there; it looks absolutely wonderful. I'm like you, always reaching for the same stuff. I guess I'll have to go to Denmakr to get the best Danish in the world ASAP then.

  13. I find myself constantly going for the same pieces too; which is why I'm trying to expand my wardrobe into what I really want to wear instead of things I've always worn. But I do like your shorts!

I've never been to Copenhagen, but I really want to - it seems like there's a lot to do there! And if it's gloomy it might actually feel like fall, instead of sunny California haha :)

  14. Love those shorts!

I do find myself wearing the same pieces over and over. I should try to use the rest of my closet more...or just get rid of the pieces I don't wear to make room for new. =)

    1. That's what I'm doing too, Patrice. I'm getting rid of old items that I don't wear very often & replacing them with chic, basic pieces I can wear in the multitude of ways. :]

  16. Oh, I can imagine it was a welcome change to the weather you have in California! We often speak about the enrichment we have due to the Bavarian weather and that we find it a blessing we have all 4 seasons (real spring, summer with heat, very nice autumns and winters with coldness and snow). Therefore I understand you enjoyed the Danish weather! No, I never ate Danish, I think this is a pity and I'm wearing especially my fake leather leggings and my black skinny jeans again and again :) Like your cool look, I can imagine you were with this outfit well equipped for the gloomy Danish weather!
