5 Things I'm Loving Right Now ♥

Now that it's getting cooler in California I'm all about the sinful drinks & desserts to give me some comfort. Yep. I'll discuss that in a moment. In case you missed the last 5 Things I'm Loving Right Now ♥, I spoke briefly about how we should express thankfulness more often; it doesn't solely have to be done during Thanksgiving.

I'm going to continue the thankful train this week as well. This week I am ever so happy & grateful that it's finally starting to cool down. I went outside yesterday afternoon in a t-shirt & shorts & I got goosebumps. That is quite a feat. Seriously. Some of you may be incredulous since it's quite cold where you're at, but here in San Diego it truly is a blessing. I'm thankful for those rare moments of frigidity. Anyhoo, let's get to the things that I'm loving right now.

oreo brownies

Oreo Brownies

I made these beauties on accident. I was trying to create the really cool chocolate chip cookie, Oreo, brownie mixture I saw on BuzzFeed or some other Facebook channel, but the chocolate chip cookie dough wasn't having it. I ended up just tossing Oreos into the Ghirardelli brownie mixture & it's been a hit ever since. People love it, myself included.

fluffy scrunchies

Fluffy Scrunchies

I bought these fluffy scrunchies a few weeks ago & have not stopped using them since. They are extremely gentle & I feel like they give me a little bit more style or pizzazz than your average hair tie. They are the perfect color scheme for autumn so I use them every day. No problems. No tears. No breakage.

lagunitas brown shugga

Lagunitas Brown Shugga'

Woohoo! I always countdown for this time of year simply for this seasonal brew to come out. Beware because it's actually very high alcohol content so drink it in moderation. The flavor is slightly sweet due to the addition of -- you guessed it -- brown cane sugar. My boyfriend & I like to slowly sip these on a Friday night while catching up on some Netflix.

survivor cambodia

Survivor: Cambodia

I can recall sitting on my friend's comfy couch back when I was in sixth grade (that's middle school) & watching Survivor. I wasn't really into it back then. In high school I remember hanging out on my best friend's reclining couch & watching it then. I guess I just have years of memories of the show. Now I'm all caught up on the newest season. It's really intriguing if you've never seen it.

chicano batman

Chicano Batman

I went to San Diego Music Thing last weekend & was really taken aback by how good this band was. Chicano Batman has catchy tunes with an intriguing sound. I like the mixture of Spanish & English songs. Give them a listen & let me know what you think.

Have you ever watched Survivor? What do you think of Chicano Batman? What are you thankful for? :]

  1. Ooh these are really interesting, got to be honest the first picture of oreo brownies really caught my eye (they look incredible and I'm so going to make them!), but I love the sound of the other things you've mentioned, Chicano Batman, sound really interesting, I love spanish and english music mixes.

    Thanks, have a great weekend,

Try running out to your car in 40 below with nothing but a sweatshirt, leggings, and boots and then we can talk! Ha ha such is the life of living in Minnesota.

My coworker visited San Diego recently and she said it was absolutely beautiful, but that "85 was just too hot."

Ha ha I'm reading through your blog and I'm loving it. Cali style is so laid back!

  15. At the risk of sounding repetitive- THOSE BROWNIES!! I mean as I look at them, I feel the calories piling on but it would be wooorth it. Whenever I see a Scrunchie, I think of the SATC episode where they likened it to the plague but they do have their benefits! (:

  21. I know exactly what brownies you're talking about! A lot of people have done recipes for them, but I first saw them as slutty brownies on Rosie's blog The Londoner. It's like a layer of chocolate chip cookie dough, then brownie mix, & then a layer of oreos, right? I keep saying I'm going to make them, but never end up doing it. Did you ever try again with the cookie dough?
