Happy New Year! I apologize if I didn't say that earlier. My bad! The year 2015 vanished rapidly but brought 2016 in its place. I guess that means we get the opportunity to set new goals & feel refreshed enough to attempt to achieve them. We're already a week into 2016; that means 51 weeks until 2017! Okay, now I'm getting ahead of myself. Here's what I was loving last year: holiday festivities, reflection, Lagunitas Brown Shugga', homegrown herbs, & autumn leaves. Let's get this started off in the new 2016 fashion!
Retype - I'm totally digging this app I got through Starbucks. Retype is basically a typography app where you can add words or phrases to photos. It has an element of design that I probably wouldn't be able to achieve in Photoshop & it's quick.
Beanies - Beanies, beanies, beanies! I'm all about beanies, especially during this time of year. They're perfect if you're having a bad hair day or if you just want to warm up your ears & head. I have several to choose from. It's been pretty rainy here in Southern California, so I'm absolutely tickled that I have the opportunity to wear them.
Dried Okra Chips - How did I not know about okra chips sooner??!?!?!! These little guys are so delectable & have minimal ingredients, making it a relatively healthy alternative to your average potato chip. They have a fantastic crunch & I like to pretend that I'm eating a vegetable.
Learning from Mistakes - It's one thing if someone tells you something about life but it's another thing altogether if you experience it & learn from it yourself. This terrible photo was taken on New Year's Eve in an attempt to remember where my boyfriend's car was parked; I didn't do a good enough job because we spent an hour walking all over trying to find the car. I'll be honest, it wasn't the first time it happened. Now I know to always drop a pin, take pictures of the surrounding area, & write a note with the cross streets.
This Photo - My boyfriend & I were doing a little grocery shopping & passed by the Denny's we used to go to when I was 17 & he was 18 years old. It was the location where we had some of our very first memories: eating breakfast before my late start class, some handholding, & innocent kisses. It's hard to admit, but it's been almost 9 years since then. To clarify: we dated in high school, separated in college, & then started dating officially (again) 3 years ago.
What are you loving so far in 2016? Do you have any goals for this year? :]
