5 Things I'm Loving Right Now ♥

Happy Friday y'all! It's practically the weekend! That doesn't mean much if you have to work weekends, but it's the weekend nonetheless. I'm going to do as little as humanly possible. My ideal weekend would include sleeping in & never getting out of bed, but I'm not sure how possible that is. I know you're dying to know what I've been up to lately, so here are 5 things I'm loving right now ♥.

Business Travel

There's a difference between traveling for fun & traveling for business; the former allows you to travel on your own accord (sleep in, wander aimlessly, do whatever you want) while the latter is strictly for a purpose (go here, do this, achieve this). I recently journeyed to San Clemente, Carlsbad, & Oceanside to cover some social media events. It's been a whirlwind. It's been tiring. It's been worth it. I head to Coronado next week.

flowers

Long-Lasting Flowers

In My Month from A - Z , I mentioned my new obsession with Aldi.  I bought a small but beautiful bouquet of flowers for the crazy low price of $5. The flowers are still going strong 10 days later. I'm impressed. They were certainly worth the price.

dill pickle kettle chips

Pickle Chips

I've been hooked on pickle chips ever since I went to Brussels, Belgium last summer. There is something so scrumptious about the mix of vinegar & dill on a fried, crispy sliver of potato. I've found a handful of pickle chip varieties here in SoCal, but I shall continue on my quest for the best pickle chips. The ones pictured were so-so. And yes, that's bird poop on the table. That's nature for you!

Creating Adventures

I get to be a part of some wonderful opportunities since I'm involved in the blogging & social media world. For my latest campaign, I'm sponsored by Stanley Brand. Fred & I took our new gear & had our own adventure, a mini getaway. We look forward to using our stuff for years to come. I've been drinking tea out of the vacuum mug every day!

gloomy days

Gloomy Days

As you may or may not know (you probably do know), I reside in good ol' Southern California  — the land where the sun comes out each day to smile & warm your soul. Although I love the comforting rays of light, I find peace in those infrequent moments of overcast, hazy brume. See my Gloomy Day OOTD.

  3. Loved reading about you five faves things, hon :)
I know exactly what you mean about a gloomy/hazy day, they are so peaceful. I do wish though there were less of them here in the UK lol. I feel a bit sun deprived sometimes :) Thankfully, June has been super warm! Traveling is always fun! Business or pleasure, you still explore something new and it's amazing. Fresh flowers make such a difference in the house. I better pop into Aldi soon :D
Hope you have a fab weekend!

  12. I live in South East Asia, where the sun is perpetually up in a never-ending blaze of heat. I hate it. So I revel in gloomy and rainy days, too! Hahaha. Though you're on business trips, I do hope you enjoy yourself, Carmen!

  17. I am looking forward to some travel for leisure finally (heading to Jamaica right now actually)! My husband travels for his company in San Diego practically every month, and I finally came along for the first time with him. While I don't have to go into the office, it's definitely a bit exhausting to just work the entire time. It doesn't feel like I really travelled, save for a few pics that I bring back and edit.

Also, it might sound weird, but I'm really into scheduling at the moment..lol.

  19. In my experience, some of the scents are weaker in general - I never buy the "sweet" scents like cupcake, cookie, vanilla, etc. The room needs to be pretty small (like a bathroom or small room that's enclosed with doors). My scents last about 30 days, but like you said, the scent is less potent after a couple weeks. :]

  22. Pickle chips sound so interesting! I've only ever travelled for leisure but honestly I love traveling so much that I think I would love travelling for business as well, even though it would inevitably be a very different experience.

  46. Such pretty shots. I used to travel for work and almost never had down time. Those days can be so incredibly long, but still a great experience. It's really the best of both worlds if you love what you do and have a moment to enjoy where you are, right? :)
