Hi all! I'm super excited to announce that I'll be traveling for four weeks in Europe with my family! Right now I'm researching the cities for things to do, determining what to pack, & just finishing up getting ready in general. I'll be away for four weeks, but I do have posts scheduled for your reading pleasure. Don't worry! Most of the places we're staying have wi-fi, so I'll still be social & send intermittent updates. :]
I went to my cousin's wedding in Canada in 2012. Back in 2010, my family did another Europe trip. We went to several countries. If you want to read about my travels, check out the Journal of my Journeys series. If you want to go wayyyyy far back on my blog, check out this post. It was my third post ever!!
Okay, so I leave on Tuesday, July 21. Yep, that's coming up immediately. Like...tomorrow. At the moment I'm piecing together my luggage & having a hard time narrowing it down. It's kind of difficult to fit/determine what you'll wear for a month abroad in a tiny suitcase. But it's a challenge I can manage. Now for the revelation. Where are we going? Honestly, it's still up in the air. We're traveling to:

I wish I could see more of Germany!! :]
DeleteYay!! I live in Copenhagen and I'm so in love with this city after moving from San Jose, CA! You should definitely check out the spiral church in Christianshavn and then see Christiania the hippie Freetown, just to see it. You should also have dinner one night at Geist on Nyhavn it's a little pricey but the food is INSPIRATIONAL. Do a canal tour as well, and check out the palaces :)

Thanks so much for these tips, Danika. I am writing them down write now. That's so cool you live in Copenhagen. :]
DeleteYes it can definitely be tricky packing for that long away. But how exciting that you get to do this!! You'll have so much fun. I'm so incredibly jealous. While you're in Paris you must eat at Paper Boy. The food is amazing and it's reasonably priced (for Paris).

Your travel schedule sounds absolutely amazing!! I stayed 1 year in Amsterdam and I would highly recommend to visit: the Anne Frank House, Rijksmuseum, Leidseplein, Begijnhof, Vondelpark, have a stroll around Jordaan, (not sure if you will be going out) but I would definitely recommend La Razza at Ludwig or a huge party every Saturday at Milky way (Melkweg) called Encore. Amsterdam is definitely worth exploring and have a stroll around or cruising through the canals of this beautiful city. :)
ReplyDeletewww.livias-adventures.blogspot.co.at
Oooh, thanks for this amazing list. Melkweg sounds fun; I'm going to look it up right now. :]
DeleteThis sounds like such fun, Carmen! I haven't been to any of these places (yet) so I'm extremely jealous. Paris and the south of France are high on my list, so I can't wait to see what you have to share about them!
ReplyDeleteSouthern France is on my list as well. Maybe for another trip. :]

Brussels is one of my favourite cities to visit, you must go to grand place it is amazing, the Atomium is cool as well as the small theme park are close by. Food wise if you like seafood you must try their mussels, we have eaten at Chez Leon and La Grand Bi for their mussels and they are amazing. Our favourite restaurant is a Thai called Fanny, which is amazing and at summer you can sit outside.

Many tips have already been given for Amsterdam, but since you have a soft spot for music: check out the agenda for Paradiso, it's one of the older concert venues in an intimate setting (a former church): http://www.paradiso.nl/web/English-Agenda.htm.
ReplyDeleteFor Brussels you can check out Ancienne Belgique: http://www.abconcerts.be/en/. I think it's Belgium's most famous concert venue (for alternative music anyways).
Have fun and looking forward to your travel stories!
XO
Thank you so much for these tips for Brussels! :]
DeleteAdd Barcelona, Berlin, Cala D'Or in Mallorca to your list :) It's beautiful there I have just arrived back. When you go long haul, go for Cancun Mexico! www.shehearts.net
