Music festivals aren't just for summertime. Although it still felt like summer as I traipsed to an autumn music festival in Santa Ana, California. A few weeks ago I was invited to attend Beach Goth 4, a two day music & more festival. The experience had its ups & downs, but one thing I truly enjoyed was looking at everyone's cute outfits & costumes. It was a Halloween festival after all; not everyone dressed in costume but they were dressed to impress. Some dressed in cool skeleton bodysuits, some dressed like Wednesday Addams. Some dressed in their snazziest outfit. These are a few of my favorite fashion & style trends from Beach Goth 2015.

Denim jacket & sassy patches |
Beach Goth is a relatively new festival; it began in October 2012, lasted just one day, & only cost $15. Now the music shindig is in its fourth year of existence, lasts two days, & charges you $100. The lineup is more comprehensive & the artists are more well known. It's safe to say they've come along way in such a short period of time.

Those who attend are encouraged to go all out, wear funky outfits & costumes. There were a decent amount of people dressed up to the nines. I tried my best to dress stylish but comfortable since I had to do a lot of reporting & shooting for my blog. I'm sorry y'all; I was not able to get any outfit photos! I was running around from set to set, attempting to manage my way through the crowd. Plus, the sun sets so early now that it gives me less time to get an outfit photo.

Oh well. You live & you learn. I think if I were to go to Beach Goth next year I'd be able to manage myself a bit better. But that's wishful thinking. As with anything, you begin to understand a bit more about an experience once you go. Now I realize just how many people dressed up for this music festival. The fashion trends were all over the place & impossible to pinpoint.

Amazing t-shirt layering |
But yeah these are a few of my favorite little details, fashion bits, & style trends from Beach Goth 2015. Personally, I would love to utilize the wonderful t-shirt layering in the photo above & create a sassy cool denim jacket with patches. Which of these trends is your favorite? Have you been to any music festivals this year? Who is the last artist you saw? :]

DeleteI am LOVING the animal prints and sassy patches! Sounds like such a fun DIY project. We saw Marian Hill live a few weeks ago and SERIOUSLY so good!! Def check them out if they are in your town!! xx SS
ReplyDeleteI think there's a huge do it yourself element. :]
DeleteHahaha, that cat shirt though. I would rock that. :) What kind of bands played? We go to a lot of local shows (since we also play in a local band), but the last larger show I saw was Mother Mother - not too known in the US but they're my favorite. If I lived in Southern California I would be desperately attempting to get to a Dead Sara concert!
ReplyDeleteThere is a variety of bands anything from rap to metal to pop. :]
DeleteHehe love that denim jacket.I've never been to a music festival....it's on my bucket list though!

Ocean Beach is a beautiful area. That's interesting that the DC area has more formal wear but not surprising since it is the capitol. :]
DeleteThat dude's crown tho! :D And hey, it's practically always summer in SoCal...
