Thanks for coming back to my blog income report! This is part 6 out of 8 of my monthly income blog income report series. I'm switching things up this time. Since I earn money from other sources than my blog (such as coaching), this is a remote work & blogging income report.
Thank you so much for reading. In June 2017, I quit my corporate job to become a full-time blogger, start an online business comment, & create valuable content.
Making money online & creating a blog income is possible, it just depends on how much you want to make & to have reasonable expectations. Yes, some people make $15,000 with affiliate marketing, but that's not why you should start a blog. Start a blog because you want to, because you would love to have a little piece of the internet for yourself because you think you'd do a great job. Do it because you want to, then see how the readers come, the emails, the offers, the income can develop.

No matter what your blog income, blogging, or online goals are, I hope you find value in these reports. Monthly income ranges. It's not steady. It's certainly nerve-wracking displaying how much money I earn, but I want to provide you with an honest look into the world of working from home. Well, cheers to six months of these blog income reports & my highest income to date!

For New Bloggers
I started blogging in 2011 & had no idea when I was doing. If you want to start, my best advice is to do it day by day. New bloggers who want to create a profitable blog can make sure they start blogging with a purpose. There are many steps so just start small. Find where you want to host your first blog. Make a list of things you need to do for one month, & keep referring to it every month for the first year.
If you're a new blog or just starting a blog & would like to earn some income, start crafting high-quality content. To start a blog, you can opt for WordPress.org, SquareSpace, WIX, Blogger, & other options. It's possible to make money online but it really depends on your reach & blog traffic. The good news is that there are many options for making money online. This blog income report is meant to show different ways that you can make money blogging & online.
Take a look at other successful bloggers within your niche to see what kind of content they write. What type of blog posts performs the best with their audience? Blog income will vary per person per month. And the thing to remember is that the blog opens up other opportunities such as sponsored posts on social media, freelance writing, press trips, collaborations, & other opportunities depending on the niche. Let's get started. Thank you so much for reading!

Linqia Sponsored Posts
Linqia was an enormous part of my income in June, the biggest to date. I got paid out for multiple campaigns spanning from May & June. Learning to Hustle, Binge Watching Shows, & A Little Life Update for the Queen of the South TV show on USA Network; How Living in San Diego, California Affects My Lifestyle for LA VICTORIA®; How to Find Vegetarian-Friendly Sushi for Sapporo beer; & Reminiscing About Paris, Planning Future Trips, & Pineapple Orange Juice Gin Punch for Seagram's gin.
Miscellaneous Sponsored Posts
The great thing about having a blog since 2011 means that it's its own online business. People reach out to me about potential sponsored posts & working together based on the content I've already created over the years. That's why my blog income is different per month. Some sponsored posts come to me via email instead of through a third-party influencer ad network like Linqia or Social Fabric. These miscellaneous posts usually come around every 2 - 3 months, & the payout takes just as long. I got paid for Ways to Avoid Blogger Burnout + My Tips for Self-Care, a post from April about Lipton tea.
Blogging + Social Media Coaching
June coaching was good this month, not my best but not my worst. I saw quite a few new clients in June. Now it's all about nurturing those relationships, both my past & present clients. As a coach, I work with people one-on-one to better their blogs, their social media presence, & their brands. This is a really fulfilling part of my business. Learn more about my coaching & how it could help you!Linqia Referrals
Linqia has been a consistent part of my blogging income over the course of multiple months. I've included it on my Income Reports, so some people sign up. I receive $5 for anyone who's accepted into the Linqia network.Affiliate Links
Many people make money blogging with affiliate links & affiliate marketing. Other ways to earn income & make money could include hosting a paid email course, affiliate marketing, sponsored blogging, guest blogging, freelance writing. Affiliate marketing essentially means a person can earn a commission by talking or linking to something, whether that's that blog hosting platform they use (like Bluehost) or linking to the camera they use.
Product Purchases
June was my most expensive month as far as buying product for blog posts. I usually need to purchase a specific item in order to talk about it. I did a press trip to Torrance for Things To Do in Torrance, California: A 24 Hour Travel Guide, which involved travel expenses, food, & exploring the city. I got reimbursed for this campaign in May, but the trip itself was in June. In total, I made product purchases for my Torrance trip, Magnum ice cream post, Grocery Outlet post, & Clos du Bois post. Thank you so much for reading!

I want to pick your brain about Linqia a bit. I have been apart of them for 3 months and have never heard from them aside from update your info (which I did immediately). What was it like to start out with them or any other experiences? Just curious. Thanks in advance.

ReplyDeleteThank you for introducing me to Linquia. I just filled out their registration form. Thanks also for being so open about your monthly earnings. It's inspiring!
ReplyDeleteI am really new to blogging only been doing it for about 3 months so I'm not making any money from it yet. I have been thinking about how I might be able to do that. Thanks for the information.
ReplyDeleteDamn! I am on my first month. I made 140+ How do I get like you? I just realllly need to figure out this affiliate marketing. I got the Facebook groups and the views but I just feel like I am missing something very important.
ReplyDeletethank you for your transparency! I have yet to earn really anything from my style blogging, but I am seeing some growth which is promising! Affiliate links and ads are helping me get there. But I appreciate your ability to be so open and honest because this is some of the best stuff I have read that isn't just vague... props to you!!
ReplyDeleteIncredible job Carmen, you are doing sooo well! It's really exciting to watch. And I absolutely looove the topics you wrote about for your Linqia sponsored posts. Those are creative ways to promote sponsors, ahhh I could seriously learn so much from you!

Wow great job! I earn most of my blogging money from ads and freelance work on the side.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I need to get back on track and up my blogging game.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Krista; I was blown away by how well you integrated the sponsorships into your posts! They were straightforward without being in your face, and still really engaging! Definitely something I'm going to have to remember!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of Linqia. I'll have to try that. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHm, I still got a long way to go =(
ReplyDeleteMy niche sites earn $100-$200 from Amazon links and AdSense (and about 2-3x that over the holiday months), but my blogs barely make a few dollars a month. I also earn $100-$400 from freelance writing and my old articles over on HubPages.
I'm totally clueless when it comes to getting sponsored posts, but that Linqia thing sounds interesting. Maybe I can find some brands in there that would be a good fit. But idk, I probably need more traffic first.
Anyway, congrats on the success.
Thank you for your honest post. I am trying to do the same .

ReplyDeleteThe potential to grow is immense! Don't give up, Lauren. It took me six years to reach this point. Hopefully my posts can help you & make it so you don't have to wait as long to figure things out. Thank you for your comment. It's difficult to talk about income publicly because people can react negatively & it's just so raw, so your comment is very encouraging. I'm happy this brings you value. I hope to see you around here on the blog. :]
ReplyDelete$140 dollars for your first month is absolutely spectacular. I didn't make any money for like four years, so you're on the right path. Remember to diversify your income streams. Thanks for reading! Don't forget to catch up on my other posts about blogging, social media, & entrepreneurial life. :]
ReplyDeleteIt's important to start blogging because you genuinely enjoy it. Wishing you continued growth. Thank you for reading! :]

ReplyDeleteDon't worry! You can build up over time. It took me 4 years before I earned even one cent from my blog. Don't give up hope. Keep writing. Engage with your audience. Keep growing. I have a lot of blogging & social media tips here on the blog! :]
ReplyDeleteThey can take a while to reach out. The important thing is when you do accept a campaign, hit it out of the ballpark. Over perform & you'll be likely to be chosen again. My first six months I did like one campaign. Now I get three or four invites each month & do one or two campaigns with them per month. You got this! :]
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for reading about my story as a new entrepreneur! I'm so glad to bring some value to your day. :]
