Revamping My Spring Wardrobe with thredUP
Here's a fact about me: I love a good bargain. You've probably heard me say that a countless amount of times, so it really shouldn't be that much of a surprise. But seriously, I'm all about functionality & affordability. That's why I was pretty excited when an opportunity to partner with thredUP* came about. ThredUp is an online store with like-new clothing from brands such as Michael Kors, Free People, Kate Spade, & more.
* Disclaimer: This is a sponsored post. :]
I have to say, I was pretty darn thrilled to get six items for $60. Here's what I got: Zara Basic Casual Dress, High Sierra Short Sleeve Button-Down Shirt, Kohl's Kimono, Mustard Seed Casual Dress, Carrie Allen Long Sleeve Button-Down Shirt, & Erika Short Sleeve Button-Down Shirt.
I waited patiently for the polka dot box to arrive & when it did, I strolled excitedly to the mailbox, gently picked it up, ran home, & opened it immediately. Everything was packed carefully & quite cutely, I might add.
As with anything in life, some of these pieces fit me like a glove & others not so much. That's just what happens when you buy clothes online. I've come to accept that not everything is going to look spectacular on my body type. However, I can already tell which of these garments will be on high rotation in my wardrobe.
The Carrie Allen Long Sleeve Button-Down Shirt called my name ever since I first spotted it online. I tried it on & fell in love with it even more. The palm tree embroidery & embellishments are nothing short of amazing.
ThredUP mixes cost-effective, like-new clothes with the added convenience of never even having to leave your home. That sounds pretty swell to me. I'm so happy to have some new versatile items to add to my wardrobe. Stay tuned for upcoming outfit of the day posts!

KAABOO Del Mar Festival // OOTD
Good day all! A couple weeks ago I went to KAABOO, an arts & music festival in Del Mar, California. I enjoyed the amazing experience with my boyfriend. I received a photo pass so I could bring my camera into the festival, which you'll see in these outfit photos. I also took some artist shots you can check out here; I captured bands such as No Doubt (Gwen Stefani), Minnie Driver, Slightly Stoopid, & more. Stay tuned for more updates on that!

But at the end of the day what is a festival without fashion? Festival fashion is half the fun. This is what I wore on day three. Looking back I was tropical all three days; Del Mar is the perfect place to represent. It's near the beach. There are palm trees. It's sunny & warm. You can't go wrong. I'm all about tropical print inspiration.

This is a low key, laid-back look. Much like myself. The outfit features a cameo from my childhood backpack whom I've named Fox Mulder after The X-Files character. I've truly had this backpack for longer than I can remember but I don't know if I've ever used it because it was spotless. Clean as a whistle. I like looking back at items I've had for years & finding a new love for them.
There are couple types of people to go to music festivals. Those who are there to be seen & get their photo taken. Then there's people like me who just want to make it through the day without dying. I did a mixture of cute & comfortable. I've stressed the importance of comfortable shoes at music festivals so many times! It's vital!

Shirt: Thrifted // Skirt: from my grandma // Socks: Rue 21 // Shoes: H&M // Backpack: ??? |
My KAABOO OOTD is super affordable; I love going thrift shopping because you can find some unique & funky pieces for cheap. I acquired the skirt from my grandma's closet when she passed away; check out another outfit featuring some of her items here. My shoes you may recognize from this outfit post. I firmly believe you can never go wrong with velvet. Or creepers. Or velvet creepers.
What do you think of my music festival outfit? Have you ever watched The X-Files? Do you like velvet :]

What Girls Wear to Coachella
Coachella Music & Arts Festival is known for its unique street style. I went in 2015 & 2016 so I have a first-hand account of Coachella fashion. This set is kind of a mosaic, bits & pieces of trends that I witnessed over & over. Looking for Coachella outfit ideas for women? Use this formula to create your own Coachella music festival inspired outfits.
You'll need some element of crochet. A crocheted top or a crochet cover-up will work wonders.
Make sure to acquire your coolest exotic or bohemian inspired print.
The most popular shoe that I saw were the ever famous booties or even a chunky booty. Booties a are a kind of a mini boot with a low cut & a low heel. Great for walking around, especially since they're close-toed.
Add some fringe in your life to get that boho Coachella music festival style. From your faux suede fringe purse to your fringe tassel jacket. I even saw some fringe booties!
Accessorize your look with a floppy fedora. I'm not sure how to describe it other than a fedora but with a floppy brim. Go for a crochet fedora or a straw panama fedora.
Get your most 70s hippie-looking round sunglasses. The more whacky the color the better, like these round retro rainbow sunglasses.
Buy metallic temporary tattoos & adorn your body with several of them. One is not enough! This was a very prominent trend as far as women's Coachella fashion for 2015.
The body chain is a simple way to have jewelry all across your body. It doesn't have to be strictly necklaces or bracelets. A rhinestone bra or a tiered thigh chain will do. Or maybe both.
What do you think about this Coachella music festival outfit? What's your favorite element? What would YOU wear? :]
