The holidays are coming! Seriously, they're right around the corner, creeping up on us with every passing moment. Family gatherings. Dinner with friends. Holiday parties. Are you ready? If you're not sure what present to give, why not take the leap to a handmade holiday season this year?
I use essential oils year round. I mix & match oils in my mini diffuser. I add a few drops of essential oil to coconut oil & apply it to my legs for moisture & shine. From home fragrance to body care, Nature's Truth Essential Oils* can be incorporated in many creative DIY projects. If you're looking for a simple but special do-it-yourself gift to give friends & family this holiday season, you're in luck.

I love to use this scrub in the shower because the spicy scent mixes with the soothing steam to energize the senses. The cinnamon smell is uplifting & reminiscent of holiday baking, while the exfoliating sugars invigorate your skin.
This Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub is a simple DIY project that anyone will love. I even coaxed my boyfriend to try it out! Use any essential oils your heart desires such as 4 Thrive, Wintergreen, or Peppermint (one of my faves). Feel free to experiment! I used cinnamon since it's one of my favorite scents.
I conveniently bought my Nature's Truth Essential Oils from Target.com in my pajamas without ever having to leave the house, but you can normally find them in the vitamin aisle. It took everything in my power not to purchase multiple items I don't need. Target always does that to me, but I was strong this time & only bought essential oils (to add to my growing collection).
I'm a genuine essential oil lover & I sincerely hope you try this simple DIY Cinnamon Sugar Body Scrub Recipe. You can use Nature's Truth Essential Oils in body scrubs, massage oils, air fresheners, soaps, the list goes on. Here's wishing you happy holidays & happy DIYing!

How to Tie Dye a Shirt with Bleach
What you'll need:
+ Bleach
+ Water
Hello, my dear friends! It's been a long time coming, but I'm proud to bring you a super easy DIY project. This is an easy bleach tie dye DIY project to do with any old t-shirt that leaves you uninspired. We all have some old tees that we never wear anymore.
Of course, you could do this do-it-yourself project with anything you have, sweatshirt, sweatpants, an old towel. It doesn't have to be a t-shirt but this is a great starting point. Go through your closet to look for items that need to be upscaled or tossed out. This bleach tie dye DIY project only takes a few minutes & you can witness the magic as it happens.
Other optional items to bleach:
+ Sweatpants
+ Sweatshirt
Love DIY? Try this easy DIY sugar scrub.

+ Spray bottle
Note: this is my way. I didn't do it the standard way, which required way too much bleach. I really like how it turned out. But that's usually how I roll. I like to do it my way. If you like how it turned out, here's how to do it:
Steps:
1. Grab an old shirt that you don't care for anymore. Twist the shirt haphazardly and add 2 or 3 rubber bands. Locate your spray bottle. Now mix equal parts bleach & water. For this particular bleach tie dye DIY project, my mixture amounted to about 1/4 of a cup. Make sure you go outside for this. Bleach is extremely toxic, so get a lot of fresh air! Gloves are also recommended.
2. You're going to spray the bleach water mixture directly on t-shirt. The more you spray (the wetter it is) the lighter it'll get. On my shirt, the lighter sections had a considerable amount of bleach versus the reddish areas that had less bleach. I like the contrast.
3. Spray your shirt. Now take out the rubber bands & relocate them. Essentially, you're going to do steps 1 & 2 several times until you get your desired result. Your bleach tie dye DIY is your creation. If you only do it one time, your shirt will be mostly unbleached (& incomplete). I would've taken a photo to document the process, but my hands were bleachy so that was a no-go. Keep spraying. Take out the rubber bands & replace until you have your desired look.
This easy bleach tie dye DIY project only takes 10-15 minutes. If you're outside on a nice, sunny day you can literally see the bleach working as you spray it. Give your revamped shirt as a gift to someone else or enjoy your 'new' shirt. It made this plain, black boyfriend tee so much more fresh & fun. Tie dye is perfect for spring & summer style. Tie dye is perfect for men, women, & children. Tie dye is perfect, okay?!!? :]
Before you dump those old grimy clothes, you should see if you can DIY it first! Have a great day. Stay crafty.
T-Shirt Reconstruction
Do you have a bunch of old shirts that you never wear? Why go buy more stuff when you can create something new from something you already own? For this craft, I took an old t-shirt and reconstructed it into something totally awesome and refreshing. I should have taken a "before" photo, but oh well. I'll do it next time. This was a basic fitted white tee with a peace sign in the middle. It needed some sprucing up because I rarely wore it. Now I can't wait to sport this during summer!
Follow these guidelines to revamp your closet too! Remember: Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.
Make natural dye - 1. Boil some water in a pot.
2. Add the outer skin of an onion (the crispy, crunchy part that you don't use). Let it boil, so the colors emerge. You'll see that it's a yellowy color. I added some turmeric to make it more vibrant. Keep it at a rumbling boil so the water gets nice and colorful.
3. Now you can add the shirt**. I twisted it up and restrained it with hair ties because I wanted a tie-dye effect. Cook the shirt for about 20 minutes or until you can view the color adhering to the shirt.
4. Wring it out. Let sit overnight. Wash with cold water.
**Note: This works best with a white shirt made of natural product (cotton, silk).

Oh wow! That's it. Now I have a shirt that nobody else has. And now you have some inspiration. Revitalize your wardrobe! Get to it!
