Learning to Hustle, Binge Watching Shows, & A Little Life Update
This post is sponsored by USA Network but the content & opinions expressed here are my own.
I hustle pretty hard. You know this about me. If you've been following along the last few months, you might've seen my income report increase from $478 in January to $1,100 in May. I'm consistently improving, learning, making changes, & doing whatever it takes to create interesting content & engage with readers. Grow as you go, that's what I like to say!
In case you didn't read the news, I'm quitting my corporate job! I'm going to focus on my blog, creating great content, being active on social media, enhancing my blogging & social media coaching business, & gaining a small handful of freelance clients.
Although I wonder about how everything will go, I have to remember that the path to success takes courage. It's not easy. But I'm ready to experience it first-hand & grow as a person, business owner, entrepreneur!
I'm currently binge watching the first season of Queen of the South on Netflix because Season 2 premieres June 8 10/9c on USA Network. Fred & I watched the whole thing in like three days. I literally was captivated within the first minute. You'll see what I mean.
I mentioned on Facebook that I was watching Queen of the South for this campaign & my friends were watching it too! Here's what one friend had to say:
"I really enjoyed this show I've been waiting for season 2 for months!" then she added, "You are gonna be on the edge of your seat the closer you get to the last few episodes."
Teresa Mendoza is a strong character with some pretty amazing survival instincts. Queen of the South Season 2 let's you see Teresa come into her own as she starts to recognize her power & potential, much like my own transition from the corporate world to the land of entrepreneurship. We get to witness her rise to become ultimate queenpin!
Without giving too much of the show away, the new season revolves around the drug cartel underworld & focuses on Teresa's relationship with Camila Vargas, her mentor & formidable foe. Loyalties are tested. Love becomes a vulnerability. Moral compromises must be made. By the end of the season, we'll come to realize that there can only be one queen. Yikes! I know I'll be at the edge of my seat.
As a female entrepreneur, I can relate to the feelings, the struggles, the issues these women have as they're trying to expand their business. It's not simple. But the best moments in life usually aren't easy, are they? Cheers to becoming a badass businesswoman!
In fact, I just spent the last few days working my butt off to complete some campaigns, send emails, plan for coaching sessions, & simply be my best business self. I planned everything out, created to do lists, & executed tasks as necessary. I feel super accomplished!
Stay tuned for some upcoming collaborations! One is with a beer brand & one is with an ice cream brand. I also have two press trips coming soon: one to Torrance, California & another to Reno, Nevada. I'm going all over the place & that's how I like it. And I love that it's all considered business!
If you need some inspiration, don't forget to watch Queen of the South June 8 10/9c on USA Network or binge watch Season 1 on Netflix like I did. I'm ready to slay my every day. Are you? :]

Get the Look: Cher's Black & White Outfit from Clueless
Clueless is a 1990s cult classic. If you haven't seen it, I encourage you to watch it as soon as you can. It's one of my top favorite movies ever; I've mentioned it a couple times: Halloween Costume Idea. There are so many wonderful & memorable outfits from the film, & they'll leave you lusting for your own version. I want to highlight Cher's black & white look from the beginning of the film because it's simple, approachable, & easy to recreate.
The best part is you may have most of these items in your wardrobe. They're wearable & versatile garments you can utilize over & over. The first thing you'll need is a sheer black button-up shirt with a white cropped tank top underneath. It's easy, breezy, beautiful. Cher's sheer shirt has ruffled cuffs so you can keep that in mind if you want to be authentic. But you go could for a white tank with a black/sheer shirt.
The next thing you'll need is a pair of black trousers. Most of us probably already have these for formal days, job interviews, work, whatever. They are sleek & the perfect way to wear pants. Cher's trousers are slightly baggier, but I prefer something more fitted. It's the ideal way to modernize a 90s inspired outfit.
Oxford shoes are having a huge come back. They're all over the place & they are pretty easy to find. You may want to go for a pair of shiny, chunky oxford shoes. They are nearly identical to the ones that you could see Cher wearing in Clueless.
In the film, Cher wears a choker necklace, a beaded cross necklace, & a simple ring. Keep the look clean & elegant with a darling beaded necklace. A beaded necklace can be used in a myriad of ways so you won't be left owning something that you never use.
Clueless has so many awesome outfits it's hard to ignore. Try to pull together this look with items you have in your closet. See how close you can get to the original & then you can integrate a couple pieces from your own wardrobe.

What do you think of this Clueless outfit? Would you wear this? Have you seen the movie? :]

London
I visited London in 2007 & again in 2017, so England has a special place in my heart. In December 2017, I celebrated 6 months of entrepreneurship as I worked from my little Notting Hill flat. It was such a wonderful experience. We spent 9 days in London (10 days if you count the one night we spent sleeping on the coach at London Gatwick airport). Yes, that happened.Buckingham Palace, 2007 |
Magazines
It was always my dream to work at a magazine. I blasted through Dirt, a cool show about a magazine editor "in the world of celebrity journalism" starring Courteney Cox. In terms of real life, I have a growing stack of unopened magazines. This task calls for summer...OFWGKTA
Obviously, Odd Future has been around for years at this point, but when I initially wrote this post, they were up-&-coming. :]
If you're a huge hip-hop fan like me, then listen to "Malaya" & "Elephunk Circus." Both songs have super catchy beats, lyrics, vibes. They used to have their mixtapes available for free on their website, but I believe they took them down.
Summer 2011
Hot weather. Summer attire. Sun. Sand. Tan. Beaches. Magazines. Frozen yogurt. Flip flops. Sunscreen. Beach towels. Bikinis. Friends. Happiness. Gardens. Picnics. Staying up late. Staying out late. Sleeping in. No school. Memories. It's almost summer. We can do it!Summer in Israel, 2010 |
